BIGSOUND has been and gone for another year. Countless showcases, non-stop industry chatter, insightful panels, impactful keynotes, time spend with friends (both old and new) and the inevitable exhaustion in the week that follows.

BIGSOUND Buzz was in a constant state of flux throughout the industry conference, dictated by the online chatter around BIGSOUND’s acts. Using a proprietary algorithm, the website took into account volume, engagement and influence across social channels, showing a leaderboard of artists from the 12 hours to the seven days prior.

Alex the Astronaut held the #1 place overall right up until Friday when Cub Sport overtook to hold the position over the weekend. Stella Donnelly had a quiet start, but shot up the charts at the tail end of BIGSOUND to land the #4 spot overall. Braille Face saw the biggest leap moving up 59 spots with other fast risers Drown This City jumping 53 spots and Deadlights climbing 52 spots.

Between our Espresso Martini party and admiring the view at the Eventbrite party, we managed to squeeze in a quick dance at as many showcases as possible. Crowd favourites were Total Giovanni, Billy Davis, Apakatjah, Good Morning, Body Type, DARTS, Miss Blanks, RVG, Stella Donnelly, Ruby Fields, Nice Biscuit and WEST THEBARTON. Special mentions to the 9-piece Blink 182 cover band, Bris-182, you were the true MVP.
