It’s that time of year again. BIGSOUND is upon us and we’re feeling ready for the music and mingling.

Bolster is sending a strong team to represent up in sunny Brisbane. Keep a keen eye out for Alex, Anthony, Nicky, Paige, Carl, Nick T, Daz and Jimmy.

With BIGSOUND comes BIGSOUND Buzz. Launched at 2016’s conference, the app let’s you see (and hear) which acts are getting the most online chatter. No need to eavesdrop on 2am conversations at Ric’s Bar, we’ve taken the hard work out of it for you!

The app works by using a proprietary algorithm that takes into account volume, engagement and influence, and then shows you a leaderboard of artists with the most online chatter over various time periods – from the last 12 hours to the last seven days.

This year’s new and improved version includes integrated Spotify playlists that update in real-time as the leaderboard changes, an audio preview of artists’ top Spotify track and the ability to segment artists by state. Check out who’s currently on top of the chart here.

Directors Alex and Anthony are both speaking on panels (and sharing some pearls of wisdom) at the conference. Find out whether or not media support is still key to the success of the band with Alex at Can Music Float In A Flooded Multi-Media Landscape? Sitting alongside James Moodie (The Orchard), Mel Brown (Impressive PR), Leigh Treweek (The Music) and Nate Auerbach (Venus Creative) this panel is bound to unearth some important answers.

Delve into the ever-widening world of data with Anth at Data and the Independent Artist – a panel exploring how independent artists can gather and make use of data to reach their fans. He’ll be in discussion with Stu Watters (AIR/Nightlife), Neil Robertson (Music Glue), Jared Kristensen (Audience Republic) and Tom Deakin (Merlin).

If you see us, say hello! We’re having a special get together for our clients and mates (flush with espresso martinis), so hit up your favourite Bolster member for details.
